I grew up near Nashville, Tennessee. In those days it was in my mind just the big city where you went on school field trips.
The culture then compared to now is so rich in diversity. Growing up we listened to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio and never would it have crossed our minds to buy tickets to see it live.
Nashville was and still is the iconic destination for the souls who are seeking to establish themselves in the world of Country Music. Notably being not only the home of the Grand Ole Opry but also The Country Music Hall of Fame.
The Gaylord Opryland Hotel was then and still is today a sight to behold. It is it’s own city within a city. Each section of the the resort takes you on a different Tennessee adventure. I have vivid memories from my childhood of the beautiful fully detailed artwork adorning the walls throughout the resort. The hotel opened in 1977 and since then has become the largest hotel/resort in Tennessee.
The Opryland hotel is managed by Marriott currently so you can earn and redeem rewards points during your stay.
There are many different views all of which are spectacular. The atriums are one of my favorites giving you the beauty of outside indoors. The ever flowing waterfalls ease you into a state of peace and calmness. There are nine acres of indoor gardens and atriums throughout the resort.
The Delta Atrium has a Riverboat Adventure. The atrium is four and a half acres and offers at the time of this article two versions. Departures prior to 3:00 pm are $10.50 per adult and $8.50 for children under twelve. The journey is around fifteen to twenty minutes. It is more of a historical tour telling the tales of the area.
Summer fest is offered after 3:00 pm The is a different tour. The tickets are $14.00 per adult and $12 for children under twelve. This adventure is a musical cruise taking you on a music city adventure.
The resort has many amenities offering shopping dining, and three salt water pools. There is a vast diversity in dining within the resort. There is everything you can desire. Ravello’s for the Italian lover, as well as Paisano’s Pizzaria & Vino. There are a couple of cafes as well. Stax is great for an American burger. Old Hickory Steak House is your traditional upscale steak house. Jack Daniel’s is one of my favorites offering Southern fare and live music.
Relâche Spa offers a wide variety of services from makeup, fitness classes, a lap pool, couples massages and eye treatments as well as kids services.
The concierge can assist with booking tickets and shuttle service to a variety of locations. To name a few The Grand Ole Opry is right next door. The General Jackson is also an impressive attraction. The Bluebird Café and the Listening Room are also magnificent destinations for the music lover.
