The Great Smoky Mountain’s is something one must experience at least once in their lifetime. I spent a great deal of my childhood on adventures in these precious Mountains. I even lived in the Tennessee and Virginia Mountains in my early twenties, but it was not until in my mid forties that I discovered the appreciation for the peace, tranquility and solace which they have to offer.
We chose to rent a cabin on a secluded mountain just outside of Pigeon Forge. It was a short beautiful ride into Gatlinburg where it offers many attractions. We visited their in the summer, but it offers activities year around. In the winter there is snow skiing, but you can ice skate all year. The scenic chair lift to the top of the Mountain where you can ride down on a Mountain sled designed like a water slide. There is also an actual water slide that goes down the Mountain as well. Another attraction is the lustrous Mountain Coaster that you can ride along the Mountain and enjoy the beautiful Mountain views.
